Dog Walking for Those in Need

A pet can have a positive impact on the health of any individual. Seniors and those who are house-bound have much to gain from having a pet in their lives. Unfortunately, however, they may have their own health barriers that make it difficult to ensure a pet gets the exercise it needs to remain healthy.

Consider volunteering your dog walking skills at a local senior housing complex or with those who have a disability.

It might be difficult to find a location to volunteer, however, your local county health department will know what housing locations may be available for those with special needs. By calling those locations, you can quickly identify who allows pets and may be able to use your volunteer services.
