What does it take?
- A caring adult over the age of 18
- Complete the online volunteer application
- Pass a background check
- Complete a one time New Mentor training
- Commit to spending a minimum of 4 hours/month with your mentee for 1 year
Many youth aren’t aware of the many career opportunities available to them. The connection between what they learn sitting in a classroom and the real world seems non-existent. You can bridge that gap.Â
Be a mentor and share your career expertise. Engage your mentee in setting and reaching their goals. And most importantly, be a friend and role model that opens a world of opportunities here in Central Iowa.
