Partnering in Communities: Strong Families, Strong Communities

CYC has partnered with Parent Information Resource Center, Polk County ISU Extension, Des Moines Public Schools, and twelve organizations to engage parents and community leaders in Polk County in meeting the academic needs of youth.

Results from this collaboration include the establishment of the Evelyn Davis Learning Resource Center as a food pantry, the offering of several parent-focused workshops on healthy nutrition and how to effectively help with homework, and the development of two additional series of resources that will help the community.

Please find below newsletters that address ways parents can help their children succeed in school thanks to Polk County ISU Extension.
