1:30 pm Royal Oaks Service Project

As the DMPS students know, there will be a change in the bell times for this upcoming school year. Community Youth Concepts is partnering with Monroe Elementary School to decorate the sidewalks from the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex to Monroe Elementary School with messages reminding families about the new bell times as well as original chalk art to make walking to school on the first day a fun experience for the children in that neighborhood! We will be joining the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex Back to School Bash, and engaging those students in the project as well! 11:00 am Farmers' Market Produce Collection

Spend an easy hour at the Downtown Farmer’s market working with the CYC Youth Volunteer Corps collecting produce for DMARC. Time at the market will be from 11:30-12:45. The van will leave Community Youth Concepts at 11:00am and will return around 1:00pm. Bring your friends for a fun and quick community service event! You can sign up here.

9:00 am 9th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Flood

Want to show off your creativity by creating your own art across downtown Urbandale’s Charles Gabus Park? Here’s your chance!

Join us at Charles Gabus Memorial Tree Park for CYC’s 9th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Flood! We’ll be partnering with some amazing community partners to offer art activities, chalk-making, music, popcorn, and snowcones! A 3D chalk artist will be creating a special piece just for the chalk flood! Bring your family and friends to flood the sidewalks with art!
